Pierce-Arrow Silver Arrow. Perhaps one of the most striking and important American automobiles ever constructed. The Pierce-Arrow company was a builder of expensive luxury cars to rival Packard, Cadillac, and Duesenberg. For the 1933 World's Fair, the company decided to make a splash and created five Silver Arrow models. The design featured aerodynamic advances such as fared-in headlights, raked grille, skirted rear wheels, and more. The body is completely built from metal (no wood, even in the structure). The cars were an instant sensation and are among the most coveted collector cars today.
