Hy-Lo Hydraulic Snow Plow Pump - douging

Belt-driven hydraulic pump used to raise and lower the ram for the snow plow. This has been leaking oil forever. Oil is very messy but makes removing fasteners easier, so I got that going for me.

The pump is made by Monarch of Grand Rapids, MI but the original company is no longer around. It was merged with another and is now Bucher Hydraulic. I have not been able to find a gasket or seal kit for it so I might be making my own for the first time.

I can't wait to get a fresh coat of red on it!

I thought I had a smoking gun for the leak with this stack of sealing washers on the distribution block. The factory diagram shows only one washer. The caked on grease on top is a solid lead. But I see a lot of gunk on the pulley shaft too. Stacking washers is not a good idea and these were undersized anyway.

This is wet from PB Blaster but the thicker grease on the pulley shaft might indicate a leak from that seal. The distribution block is also right above this which might also have been the source.

Ready for paint with KBS Seal. There is still some original red paint but I don't want to scrape it off and scratch the aluminum tank. And I don't need to remove all of it anyway.
